I’ve been working in legendary music town Muscle Shoals since 2023 and I’m excited to announce that one of my side projects as been contributing articles to Rhythms Magazine. My column ‘Muscle Shoals Music Now’ has become a feature in Rhythms and in these articles, I discuss the vibrant music scene in the Shoals. The first article (January/February 2024) focused on the 10 year anniversary of Single Lock Records, a Grammy-winning record label. It was established in the Shoals by Grammy winners Ben Tanner and John Paul White, as well as Reed Watson, Will Trapp, and Reed Trickett.
In the March/April 2024 article, I shone a light on the talented songwriters and musicians that perform, songwrite and creatively collaborate to produce great live and recorded music an ongoing basis in the Shoals. The music scene in the Shoals is vibrant and successful due to an underlying ethos of community over competition.
