This peer reviewed conference paper focused on environmental colour. It presented initial insights from my PhD research which investigated responses to facade colour within the context of planning policy in NSW.
At the time, environmental colour in planning policy in NSW focused mainly on hue similarity. My PhD research findings suggested that people like both hue similarity and contrasting hues in the environment. As a result, planning policy creates concord for some while discord for others when it comes to environmental colour.
I had the opportunity to present this conference paper at the EBRA conference in Tianjin, China. It was fascinating to travel to China and visit historic sites like the Great Wall, Temple of Heaven and the Forbidden City.
